Explicitly Gifted. Tall Dark & Emotional, the artist known as MaC_AsYLuM showed up on the scene under the Moniker “The Spit-Fit Rapper”. Born Justin McCartney in Salt Lake City, Utah on New Years Eve, to two career criminals parents, who were in and out of prison throughout his life, he was raised by his Grandmother. He learned to get fast or get left, the only thing faster was how fast he grew up. He weathered a messed up mentality given to him by constant disappointment with the help of music.
Listening to Tupac’s “2 of Americas Most Wanted”, Warren G’s “Regulators”, and Luniz’s “Got 5 on it” as a young kid with his grandmother, they would rap and sing together acting like thugs and having a blast. From a young age, rap grew in his heart and acted as therapy to help him escape life’s disappointments. Each songs comes from an Intense emotional story, to help another and comfort those who are suffering because you’re never alone.
